This position is focused on traffic engineering including modeling, safety and operational studies, and technical report writing under direct supervision of the Traffic Engineer, with involvement in all aspects of Engineering Department tasks.
Project management and organizational skills, communication and teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking. General computer literacy including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, field manager, and an aptitude for learning new software.
Other RequirementsA valid Michigan Driver’s License;
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam completion with a track to obtain the Michigan registered Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred;
Additional certifications may include all or some of the following:
Density Certification, Stormwater Operator Certification, ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Level I, MCA/ACI Concrete Testing Levels I & II, HMA Level I, MDOT Office Technician Certification, and FHWA Safety inspection of in-service bridges certification.
