Hardware Test Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Hardware Test Engineer to lead validation activities for new development and perform sustaining tasks for telecommunication products such as routers and switches. This role involves defining and developing test plans, conducting compliance testing, and leading efforts to address issues to meet product standards. The engineer will also maintain accurate documentation of all actions required to achieve product certifications.
Responsibilities- Define and develop comprehensive test plans for telecommunication products.
- Conduct compliance testing to ensure products meet required standards.
- Lead problem‑solving efforts to address any issues discovered during testing.
- Document all actions and processes necessary for product certifications.
- Experience with hardware testing, DVT, validation, and SONET.
- Proven expertise in driving validation testing for new hardware.
- Experience in performing physical layer testing for telecommunication hardware or similar embedded systems.
- Proficiency in using hardware lab equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal analyzers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in automating tests using Python or a similar scripting language is highly desirable.
The position is onsite from Monday to Friday in an engineering lab setting located in San Jose. There is flexibility around the start time, with some team members starting as early as 8 AM and others at 10 AM. The expectation is to work 8 hours per day.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Jose, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
