Role OverviewThe successful candidate will be able to:
- Shape the growth strategy for Kleinfelder’s Northern California Area Transportation.
- Drive sales from a select group of targeted clients in the transportation, aviation, and infrastructure market.
- Understand the clients’ business needs and develop innovative value‑added solutions and cost‑effective recommendations to exceed their needs.
- Coordinate project delivery and proposal teams with clear and succinct communication regarding client requirements and differentiation strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and teaming partners, providing engineering, construction, and professional consulting services in a trusted advisory role.
- Proactively network with clients, teaming partners, and industry partners to understand market trends and opportunities that create a return on the investment.
- Work in a matrixed work environment, interacting with business development and operations teams, and maintaining close communications with the client to represent their needs effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 9–12 years of proven progressive experience in transportation infrastructure projects (highways, bridges, rail/transit, aviation, and ports/harbors).
- 10+ years of direct interaction with Northern California project stakeholders (CALTRANS / DOT, municipalities, transportation engineering firms, design/built contractors, etc.).
- 6–7 years of management expected.
- 5–6 years of supervisory/management experience desired.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
- Strategic thinker and leader.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have a 'get it done' attitude and be proactive.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Quality and client service oriented.
- High attention to detail, finances, and good problem‑solving skills.
- Results oriented and utilizes change management skills to maximize revenue.
- Flexible work schedule – duties will be primarily performed in an office environment.
- Occasional travel to attend industry, client, and teaming partner meetings as needed.
Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays. Salary range: $140,000–$235,000.
