WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING
At AMD, our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences—from AI and data centers to PCs, gaming and embedded systems. Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. When you join AMD, you’ll discover the real differentiator is our culture.

We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a technically strong, execution-focused Product Owner to take end-to-end responsibility for a specific FPGA product line—starting from concept to post-silicon validation. The role centers on engineering ownership, delivering optimized, customer-ready silicon solutions for applications in Industrial Vision and Health (IVH) and beyond.

THE PERSON:

You are a collaborative, detail-oriented and highly adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Strong communication, problem-solving and ownership mindset are critical to navigating the complexities of product development while aligning technical outcomes with customer needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Product Inception & Definition Phase
    • Propose new FPGA-based products aligned with market and application needs (e.g., IVH).
    • Develop product definitions with inputs from architecture, marketing and engineering.
    • Drive initial costing, resource planning and schedule estimation.
    • Present new product proposals for approval with technical and business justifications.
  • Development & Execution
    • Partner with architecture, physical design (PD) and verification teams to manage trade-offs across cost, power, performance and schedule.
    • Support engineering execution from front-end RTL development through back-end implementation.
    • Drive cross-functional alignment and issue resolution throughout the silicon development cycle.
    • Collaborate on design choices involving IPs, protocols and System Verilog-based hardware design.
  • Post-Silicon & Validation
    • Ensure robust test plans and validation strategies are in place before silicon return.
    • Oversee characterization, validation and silicon debug processes.
    • Gather and integrate feedback from marketing and technical marketing teams for product alignment with customer expectations.
    • Identify validation gaps and lead cross-team resolution.
  • End-to-End Product Readiness
    • Own the complete solution lifecycle, from definition to validated, customer-adaptable silicon.
    • Ensure deliverables are cost-effective, high-performing and time-to-market optimized.
    • Enable solution-level readiness by coordinating with hardware, software and customer support teams.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven track record in hardware product development—from concept to post-silicon validation.
  • Deep understanding of FPGA, IP or ASIC design and verification processes.
  • Hands‑on experience with System Verilog, digital design methodologies and protocol integration.
  • Familiarity with front‑end and back‑end flows, including synthesis, P&R, timing closure and verification.
  • Solid grasp of customer requirements, solution trade-offs and system-level thinking.
  • Comfortable working across multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills to support design and validation flows.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering.

LOCATION: San Jose, CA. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
