Mechanical Engineer

Overview

Mechanical Engineer role at Cisco – part of the Data Center Switching Mechanical & Thermal team that develops the Nexus 9000 line of data center and cloud switches.

• Mechanical Design:
  Develop and refine mechanical components and systems.
• Problem Solving:
  Use analytical and logical reasoning to address engineering challenges.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure cohesive project development.
• Testing and Debugging:
  Conduct mechanical and thermal design testing and debug issues as they arise.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering + 2 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering + 0 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in use of 3D MCAD tools (Solid Works, Creo, NX).

• Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with programming/scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, C++) for automation or data analysis.
• Experience in the mechanical design of computing/networking equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
