We are seeking a Senior Imaging Engineer to join our Vision Business Unit within the Image Signal Processing (ISP) team. This team consistently delivers best-in-class image quality for automotive cameras built on indie’s current and next-gen high-performance ICs. This role involves close collaboration with the imaging algorithms, firmware, and software tools teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, verification, and optimization of auto-exposure, auto-white-balance, and auto-flicker-detection control algorithms on indie’s Vision ICs.
- Architect, implement, and deploy real-time control firmware for ISP pipeline blocks (e.g., image enhancement, noise reduction, HDR, and other key image processing functions).
- Partner closely with the Image Quality, Camera Host Tools, and Vision Embedded Software teams to continually enhance indie’s embedded software.
- Maintain and evolve ISP pipeline hardware algorithm C-models for next-generation camera video processors.
- Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for ISP firmware algorithms and control architecture.
- Mentor ISP, Image Quality, and Applications engineers to help grow their technical capabilities and careers.
- Support R&D in sensor fusion and machine learning technologies for future applications.
- Collaborate with the Vision Platform Engineering team on sensor driver development, maintenance, and performance tuning.
- Guide and support Image Quality and Applications Engineering teams during customer productization of indie’s ISP solutions.
- Develop and maintain training materials and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or
- Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience, or
- Ph.D. with 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven track record delivering ISP pipeline solutions for automotive, mobile, consumer, industrial, or medical products.
- Proficient in C programming (required); familiarity with C++, MATLAB, and Python is a plus.
- Hands‑on experience developing embedded firmware with real‑time constraints in image processing or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support other engineers.
- Strong data‑driven mindset with solid experimental and analytical skills.
Degree must be in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, Mechanical/Mechatronics, or Imaging Science with a focus on signal/image processing or control systems.
