Field Service Engineer – San Francisco, CA
Join Leica Microsystems as a Field Service Engineer, responsible for onsite installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of Leica equipment across the Western United States. This role supports university and biotech customers, collaborates with Sales Representatives, and ensures excellent after‑sales service.
In This Role- Visit customers (primarily universities and biotech companies) for preventive maintenance actions, fault analysis, upgrades, installation, maintenance, and repair to achieve optimum customer care delivering professional service with effective working practices.
- Support Sales Representatives in activities such as installations and demo/exhibitions.
- Collaborate closely with the Service Team to ensure all customers in the region are provided professional after‑sales service, including exchanging valuable information resulting from customer contacts to increase customer happiness and sales.
- HS Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years’ experience and/or vocational training in a technical, scientific, or engineering background or relevant military experience.
- Electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- This position requires flying and/or driving travel, potentially including up to 80% overnight stays, up to 4 overnights a week. Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms.
