Job Description Responsible for the site supervision, development, planning, coordination, organization, implementation and evaluation of the nursing program activities.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, manage, update and evaluate all aspects of the nursing program including but not limited to: RN program budget; faculty and staff; clinical site liaison; curriculum development and implementation; program compliance with Board rules and regulations; site visits; student advocate; program policies and procedures; faculty and student handbooks; supplies and equipment to meet program objectives; prepares data and other written materials for all required state and Board requirements: reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys and site visits.
  • Ensure that all student and faculty records on site are initiated and maintained in all phases of student academic status; work with Human Resources to maintain required documentation of faculty and staff qualifications.
  • Assist with identifying and obtaining outside resources for the nursing program.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Organize and serve on program committees; oversee admission process and orientation.
  • Write articulation agreements with nearby colleges detailing accepted course equivalents for the purpose of transferring into Eagle Gate, Provo, and Unitek College nursing programs.
  • Serve as liaison between the community and the college; accept other duties as indicated to ensure consistency and meeting needs of students and programs.
  • Develop and ensure that educational partnerships and contracts with clinical sites are initiated and maintained.
  • Perform and/or delegate a clinical site evaluation that assesses the ability of the agency to provide clinical experience meeting objectives, analyzes risk and safety, and confirms adequate staffing for clinical objectives.
  • Meet with clinical faculty or agency educational representatives to discuss and confirm number of students, faculty assignments, dates, times, clinical rotations, and clinical objectives. Complete and forward BRN clinical approval forms prior to initiating clinical rotations.
  • Ensure evaluations by students, clinical site representatives, and faculty at completion of each clinical rotation are completed and summarized for the Dean, Chief Academic Officer, and Advisory Committee.
  • Maintain minutes of inter-agency meetings.
  • Participate in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring and orientation; ensure regular nursing faculty meetings with adequate records and minutes.
  • Participate in conflict resolution for faculty and students.
  • Initiate and maintain community relationships; advocate for and market the programs.
  • Monitor quality of instruction and participate in faculty and program review, evaluation, and strategic planning; maintain membership in professional associations.
  • Interact with other college entities as a representative of nursing interests (counseling, registration and financial aid); provide advising support and degree planning to potential students.
  • Provide input to ensure students are oriented to nursing skills lab and clinical facilities prior to clinical rotations.
  • Manage student appeals and grievances per policy.
  • Participate in planning and review for recruitment and admission of qualified nursing students; advise and provide academic support to nursing students as indicated.
  • Ensure all students complete necessary documentation and meet requirements for graduation and licensing exam.
  • Conduct Nursing Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Monitor student performance in the program, NCLEX licensing and job placement rates.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located.
