We are seeking a Volleyball Coach with 2 to 3 years of coaching experience in high school or club settings. The ideal candidate will have a valid California driver's license, current insurance, and a safe driving record. Responsibilities include planning and organizing team activities, instructing athletes, ensuring compliance with team rules, and creating a positive environment for student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience/Education/Licensing: 2 to 3 years of coaching experience, high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred), valid CA license (Class
C), current insurance, and DMV report.
- Ability to follow policies and uphold the school's mission.
- Familiarity with sports rules and regulations.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with faculty, students, and community.
- Professional class management, communication skills, reliable transportation, and ability to coach diverse skill levels.
- Plan, organize, and lead team activities.
- Instruct and demonstrate skills.
- Communicate team rules and monitor conduct.
- Organize tryouts and maintain selection integrity.
- Coordinate with Athletic Director on training, scheduling, and parent meetings.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for athletes.
- Supervise athletes during practices and games, ensuring transportation arrangements.
- Model sportsmanship and appropriate conduct.
Complete required safety training via Safe Schools and NFHS Learn, including first aid, injury prevention, and sports safety courses. At hire, complete Fundamentals of Coaching or equivalent certification.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental DemandsNavigate campuses, conduct meetings, and occasionally lift equipment. Handle work stress, analyze problems, and work with interruptions. Travel frequently across the Bay Area to various sports venues.
ClassificationSeasonal, part-time, hourly position aligned with the school calendar.
