The Harker School seeks a Tennis Coach for the Middle School Athletic Program. The season begins March 9th, 2026 and runs through May 8th, 2026. Hours are Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 6:30pm.
Expected Hourly Rate: $17.95 - $25.00
Position SummaryCoordinate and direct team and provide direction to student-athletes so they might achieve a high level of skill and an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork in their chosen sport.
Qualifications- At least 18 years of age.
- Experience working with children preferred. Must be comfortable working with and around school-age children.
- First Aide/CPR certified
- 1 - 2 years coaching experience (preferred)
- Assumes the responsibility for effectively managing groups of students
- Maintains accurate attendance
- Organizes practice plans and game plans
- Communicates effectively with AD, other staff, students, and parents
- Stays informed regarding weekly sports emails, updated developments, and changes
- Completes miscellaneous tasks and duties as requested
- Attends coach's meetings and mandatory seasonal parent meetings
- Ensures students are participating in a fair and sportsmanlike manner
- Ensures the safety and decorum of students while traveling to away games
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
- Coaching students (Ages 9 to 13)
- Experience in or having a background in the sport interested in coaching
- It may be subject to extended periods of standing or walking.
- The majority of time may be spent outside, resulting in exposure to extremes in either heat or cold as weather and temperatures vary.
