Special Education Teacher

EMIT Learning is seeking experienced and dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our partner school site in San Jose, CA. for the 2025–26 school year.

• Position: Special Education Teacher
• Location: San Jose, CA
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: June 2026 (with possible extension)
• Hours: 35–40 hours per week (includes 30-minute unpaid lunch)

• California Credential/License: Mild/Mod

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Deliver adaptive instruction across various subjects, including Math and Language Arts.
• Track and assess student progress using standardized testing and alternative assessments.
• Collaborate with families, general education staff, and support personnel to build a strong support network.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for student performance, compliance, and communication.

• At least 1 year of experience in a Special Education teaching role.
• Experience working with students who have developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
• Proficiency in adapting curriculum and implementing personalized tutoring strategies.
• Strong written communication and proofreading skills.
• Familiarity with special education compliance requirements and testing processes.
