Kids Fitness Instructor

Wushu Central's Kung Fu Kids in San Jose is hiring! We are in search of a full-time team member who wants to make a positive impact on the lives of children.

No experience necessary! If you've never learned martial arts, that's OK! We will teach you the skills and our teaching methodology to turn you into an amazing martial arts instructor.

To succeed you will need to be:

• Willing to Learn. Come with an open mind, ready to be pushed to excel!
• Physically fit. This is an active job teaching martial arts to children!
• Engaging and enthusiastic. Part of being great with kids is being fun to be around!

This is What It’s Like to Work Here:

Each day begins with 1-hour of Team Development where we learn and rehearse the lesson plans for the day. Your supervisor trains you in childhood development, teaching methodology, and the technical skills you need.

Then, it's time to lead! You'll teach five different programs:

• Grasshoppers (2-3 yr olds) - Develop social and physical skills for our youngest students in this parent-participation class.
• Little Pandas (4-6 yr olds) - Help these young curious minds develop a love for movement while gaining focus, discipline, and confidence through a fun and structured class.
• Mighty Tigers (7-9 yr olds) - Inspire confidence and resilience in these energetic learners by building fundamentals. At this age, kids are developing their sense of independence, so we focus on discipline, perseverance, and positive habits while keeping the classes dynamic and fun.
• Rising Dragons (10-14 yr olds) - Turn these children into successful adults by teaching them life skills which will benefit them forever! Martial arts is the best vehicle to teach them a positive mindset.
• Spectrum Stars (special needs) - Teach children who need a caring instructor with lots of patience and understanding. We adapt our martial arts program to meet each child where they are.

Throughout the day, you'll also meet trial students and sell memberships. After classes are done for the day, you'll help reset and tidy up the studio, and then close up for the day. Well done!

Requirements:

• You must be capable of thriving in a highly disciplined and structured environment.
• You must be driven to learn and grow constantly, living outside your comfort zone.
• You must be extremely reliable and committed to always being on time.
• You must be an excellent communicator.
• You must be in great physical condition.

Work Hours:

• Mon OFF.
• Tue 1:30 pm - 7:15 pm.
• Wed 1:30 pm - 7:15 pm.
• Thu 1:30 pm - 7:15 pm.
• Fri 1:30 pm - 7:15 pm.
• Sat 9:00 am - 4:45 pm.
• Sun 11:30 am - 5:30 pm.
