Educational Support Specialist - Oak Grove

Position Summary

Right At School is a leading for‑profit education enrichment company offering children before and after‑school programs nationwide. The Educational Support Specialist will partner with curriculum, compliance, and field leadership teams to maintain a quality, compliant, safe, and inclusive learning environment and to ensure program adherence to best practices and regulatory guidelines.

Day in the Life
  • Instructional Staff & Team Development
    • Implement individualized and small‑group instruction, lesson plans, and instructional activities.
    • Adapt materials for diverse learners and provide accommodations from IEPs, 504, or ELL plans.
    • Foster positive relationships, promote behavior and self‑regulation, and provide behavioral support with management plans.
    • Assist with personal care tasks as needed.
    • Ensure adherence to company, licensing, and district policies.
    • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and inclusion practices in program environments.
    • Collect and report student progress and behavior data.
    • Collaborate with Area Manager and Impact Team on students with unique needs.
    • CA:
      Apply ELO‑P/ASES and Heritage licensing guidelines.
  • Program Quality & Continuous Improvement
    • Support quality assurance and safety protocols across programs.
    • Conduct safety and program quality assessments.
    • Review and update safety procedures and emergency plans.
    • Coordinate with managers to identify and implement improvement plans.
    • Collaborate with Impact Team and Area Manager on district goals and initiatives.
    • CA:
      Review PQA results and support improvement strategies.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, social work, or related field (preferred). Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in youth development or after‑school programming.
  • Experience conducting assessments and implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of program implementation, quality assurance, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, licensing regulations, and educational standards; CA roles should know ELOP/ASES and Heritage guidelines.
  • Ability to model, mentor, and train staff.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and child development principles.
  • Experience supporting inclusive environments for students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Adaptability and willingness to navigate shifting priorities.
  • Ability to meet pre‑hire and post‑hire requirements (background checks).
  • Must meet Right At School Auto Safety Policy and drive requirements.
  • Physical requirements:

    independent decision‑making, task prioritization, multitasking, lifting up to 15 lb (≤25% of the day), stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling ≤25% of the day, standing/sitting/walking for prolonged periods.
