Overview
Salary: $24.22 per hour plus fully paid employee medical and dental benefits.

The impact you will have: As an instructional associate you will assist the teacher to support our special education students in developing their academic, social, and life skills. We offer a variety of programs, from transitional kindergarten through postsecondary. We are looking for committed professionals who will help to supervise and support student learning. As an Instructional Associate you will be assisting (note your role may vary by school site):
- the teacher with individualized or group student support
- students with assignments, homework and projects
- students with classroom rules and procedures
- teachers and students with break and lunch supervision
- assist teacher with development and presentation of instructional content such as preparing and distributing classroom materials
Who you are: A dedicated, collaborative professional with strong communication skills who can develop successful relationships with students, families, and co-workers.
What you bring:
- One of the following:
- Passage of the San José Unified Instructional Associate Assessment (view tutorial here). This will be completed after your application and interview
- an Associates Degree or higher
- two years of college (48 units)
- Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred
- Completion of San José Unified’s Crisis Intervention training within 60 days of start date.
