Position: Magic Instructor (Part Time, In-Person)
Job Summary

The Magic Instructor at Concorde Education will play a crucial role in developing and delivering an engaging curriculum focused on teaching simple magic tricks. This position is designed to enhance students' creativity, dexterity, and confidence through the art of magic. The instructor will impact students' learning experiences by fostering a passion for performance and teaching valuable life skills.

General Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a magic curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of the students.
  • Lead magic sessions that teach students the fundamentals of magic tricks, including technique, presentation, and performance skills.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
  • Assess students' skills and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and program coordinators to integrate the magic curriculum with other educational offerings.
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Facilitate regular communication with parents, guardians, and educational stakeholders regarding student performance and program updates.
  • Ensure that all equipment and props are properly set up, maintained, and stored.
Major Duties

Curriculum Development: Develop lesson plans and learning modules that go beyond basic tricks to incorporate elements of performance, presentation, and audience engagement.

Classroom Instruction: Lead classes, ensuring that each student is actively engaged and benefiting from the educational experience.

Student Assessment: Regularly evaluate student progress, adapting instruction to meet individual needs.

Community Building: Create a classroom environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and respect among students.

Equipment Management: Ensure the optimal performance and maintenance of all magic props and equipment.

Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of student attendance, assessment results, and feedback, submitting reports as required.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Instructional Skills: Ability to design and implement a curriculum that is age-appropriate, engaging, and educational.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities. Must be open to receiving feedback and making adjustments accordingly.

Organizational Skills: Must be able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Content Knowledge: Must have extensive knowledge in all content areas of simple magic tricks and performance.
