Position: PSYCHIATRIST - (On-Call)

Responsibilities include:

Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations of new referrals and established clients, determining necessary psychiatric treatments.

Assess medication needs, prescribe and monitor medications, and educate clients about their medications.

Provide psychiatric care aligned with client goals and objectives.

Participate actively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.

Consult with other physicians, treatment team members, and support staff, both internally and externally.

Handle complex or critical cases in consultation with professional staff.

Interface directly with clients, providing counseling during conflicts and crises.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

M.D. degree with at least two years of medical residency, including six months’ psychiatric outpatient experience. If not enrolled in an accredited residency, meet Board Eligibility Criteria for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. (E)
Valid DEA certificate and current medical license in California without disciplinary actions.
Knowledge of medications, contraindications, and education (E).
Proficiency in clinical assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques for mental illness, along with conflict resolution skills. (E)
