We are seeking a Locum Psychiatry Physician to provide part-time psychiatric care in San Jose, CA. This role involves performing comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing medication management for developmentally disabled patients with co-occurring mental health disorders. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced in both adult and/or child psychiatry.
Compensation: $225-$240 per hour depending upon experience
Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for referred patients.
- Provide specialized psychiatric and medical services, including prescribing and monitoring controlled substances.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Deliver qualified, reimbursable services under Medicare, Medi-Cal, Regional Centers, County Mental Health, and other funding sources.
- Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Participate in quality assurance and case review meetings as needed.
- Active California Medical License (required).
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult and/or Child Psychiatry (Certification must be obtained within 5 years of residency).
- Eligible for Medicare/Medi-Cal certification.
- Authorized to prescribe controlled substances.
- Flu and COVID-19 vaccination required, or approved medical/religious exemption.
