Responsibilities
About The Team
We are working on Privacy and Content Ecosystem to build a fair and trust platform for our users, by providing specific user protection, transparent controls and content distribution. For the long term, we want to be experts in the industry. Join our fast growing team at Tik Tok in the SF Bay Area to lead and own product features that help evolve and drive impact for everyday consumers and creators.
Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with product managers, researchers, content designers, and engineers to shape strategic design decisions and deliver impactful, user-centered experiences across global markets.
- End-to-End Design Ownership:
Lead the full design lifecycle—from concept ideation and user flows to high-fidelity visuals and pixel-perfect execution.
- Insight-Driven Design:
Create solutions informed by a deep understanding of user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints. Leverage data and research to craft designs that are both innovative and practical.
- Rapid Prototyping & Iteration:
Translate conceptual ideas into prototypes and leverage stakeholder feedback and testing to quickly refine and iterate.
- Facilitate
Innovation: Lead design sprints and workshops to collaboratively generate creative solutions to product challenges and opportunities.
- Elevate Design Quality:
Champion design excellence and consistency by contributing to design systems and driving internal design initiatives.
- Knowledge Sharing:
Present key design insights, project outcomes, and best practices to the broader team and cross-functional partners.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience in UX and UI design, having led multiple projects from strategy through to launch with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in designing for both mobile and desktop platforms, with a strong understanding of design systems and responsive design.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with the ability to quickly ideate and iterate on a wide range of design solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions, vision, and rationale.
- Open-minded, self-motivated, and receptive to feedback, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Entrepreneurial mindset—thrives in dynamic, rapidly changing environments.
- A global perspective, with curiosity and sensitivity toward international products and user behavior.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience designing for consumer-facing products across mobile, web, and desktop.
- Strong visual and interaction design skills, with hands-on experience building prototypes to test complex interactions.
- Experience facilitating cross-functional design sprints or collaborative workshops.
- Proficiency in A/B testing and data-informed design practices.
- Results-driven, adaptable, and comfortable within a fast-moving, impact-focused culture.
- Passion for Tik Tok’s platform, creative community, and its cultural impact.
