Overview
Hill International is seeking an Inspector in San Jose, California
Responsibilities- Review and analyze contract specifications and requirements.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work meets contract terms.
- Document and report on project progress and adherence to contract.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
- Coordinate with contractors and project managers to resolve issues.
- Ensure all safety and regulatory standards are met.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation.
- Verify that materials and equipment comply with the contract requirements.
- Attend project meetings to discuss contract-related matters.
- Assist in the review and approval of contractor invoices and payments.
- 5+ years of hands-on inspection experience supporting projects of similar scope and complexity.
- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, standards, equipment, quality and safety per State and Federal requirements.
- Candidate should have strong computing skills including competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, special provisions, and other contract documents.
- Ability to independently identify potential problems and propose solutions.
- Sufficient communication skills both written and oral.
- Valid California Class C driver's license.
- Position is on-site in Santa Clara County.
The salary range for this position is $134,000 - $157,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicant's qualifications, education, experience and work location.
