Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

McMillen, Inc. is looking for a Project Manager to join our growing construction division. This role will manage heavy civil jobs ranging from $5M–$75M across Southern Central states. The Project Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting construction projects, including hard bid, CM, and Design-Build.

Responsibilities
  • Manage mid to large scale heavy civil projects with moderate to high risk levels.
  • Overall management of multiple construction projects in varying stages of completion.
  • Coordinate with Construction Operations Manager to assure project performance aligns with goals.
  • Implement Corporate Safety Policy on all assigned projects.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Assistants, and Project Engineers.
  • Generate work plans, schedule projects, and budget time requirements to meet deadlines.
  • Determine labor requirements and coordinate manpower dispatch to construction sites.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and regulations.
  • Prepare contracts, negotiate revisions, changes, and additions with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses or coordinate with environmental and regulatory staff to assure proper compliance prior to project mobilization.
  • Supervise workers and fill in for Project Superintendents as needed.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress, cost tracking, and quality control documents.
  • Address delays, bad weather, or emergencies and coordinate resolutions with owners, contractors, and design professionals.
  • Provide project closeout documents and track warranty period releases.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or minimum of 5 years comparable experience.
  • 5–8 years of experience with heavy civil design-build projects managing all aspects from design, approvals, procurement, construction, and implementation.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay Range: $107,634 – $134,543 (DOE)
