Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction
McMillen, Inc. is looking for a Project Manager to join our growing construction division. This role will manage heavy civil jobs ranging from $5M–$75M across Southern Central states. The Project Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting construction projects, including hard bid, CM, and Design-Build.
Responsibilities- Manage mid to large scale heavy civil projects with moderate to high risk levels.
- Overall management of multiple construction projects in varying stages of completion.
- Coordinate with Construction Operations Manager to assure project performance aligns with goals.
- Implement Corporate Safety Policy on all assigned projects.
- Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Assistants, and Project Engineers.
- Generate work plans, schedule projects, and budget time requirements to meet deadlines.
- Determine labor requirements and coordinate manpower dispatch to construction sites.
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and regulations.
- Prepare contracts, negotiate revisions, changes, and additions with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Obtain necessary permits and licenses or coordinate with environmental and regulatory staff to assure proper compliance prior to project mobilization.
- Supervise workers and fill in for Project Superintendents as needed.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress, cost tracking, and quality control documents.
- Address delays, bad weather, or emergencies and coordinate resolutions with owners, contractors, and design professionals.
- Provide project closeout documents and track warranty period releases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or minimum of 5 years comparable experience.
- 5–8 years of experience with heavy civil design-build projects managing all aspects from design, approvals, procurement, construction, and implementation.
- Pay Range: $107,634 – $134,543 (DOE)
