Kidzcare Worker
West Gate Church, a non‑denominational, multisite church located in Silicon Valley, is seeking an energetic, skilled Childcare Worker to help provide a safe, warm and welcoming environment for our children and their families.
Reports to: Kidzcare Coordinator
Relates closely with: Children’s Ministry Team
Classification: Part‑time
Pay range: Minimum Wage

- Demonstrates strong chemistry, connecting well with people as a relational team player.
- 2 years minimum experience providing care for children.
- Positive, professional, self‑starter with the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities with minimal direction.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality, handling situations with discretion, diplomacy, and tact.
- Exhibits personal and professional discernment and discretion.
- Superior communication skills: written and verbal.
- Provide physical, emotional and intellectual support and stimulation to each child in your care as appropriate for the circumstances.
- Provide appropriate guidance to each child in your care.
- Provide support and assistance to parents when they check in.
- Assist children with snacks and/or meals.
- When assigned to the nursery, warm bottles, change diapers, clean and comfort appropriately.
- Prepare classrooms, assist children with toileting and change diapers as needed following West Gate Church policy.
- Ensure at all times an atmosphere that is polite, friendly and courteous to others, both children and adults.
- Attend periodic training and education events provided by West Gate Church.
- Be punctual. Notify the Childcare Coordinator in advance if you must be late.
- Be reliable in your attendance. Notify the Childcare Coordinator in advance if you must be absent.
- Always project a demeanor of cooperation with West Gate Staff and parents.
- Do not engage in physical punishment or discipline of any child.
- Abide by and apply the Childcare Policies of West Gate at all times.

- Stand for extended periods.
- Perform walking, bending, twisting, and kneeling.
- Navigate stairs.
- Demonstrate finger and hand dexterity for computer, instrument, and tool operation.
- Possess specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
- Lift and carry up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
Operate in a classroom setting with tables, chairs, diaper changing tables, books, toys, and other equipment appropriate in a child‑care setting. Work is scheduled on an as‑needed basis.
