About this opportunity Insights are the tip of the spear and they guide business decisions and shape strategies  Global Insights team are the experts that partner with Global, Regional and Local business leaders to develop actionable insights and are responsible for gathering, synthesizing, and sharing relevant competitor and industry information.

We are looking for a Sr. Global Insights Manager – Competition Insights to join us on our Global Business Development and Strategy team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment, someone who is energized by deriving insights to solve challenging business problems, and someone who enjoys collaborating with diverse but equally passionate teams to transform smiles and change lives.

This role is based in North America (San Jose, CA). In this role, you will… Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Align and key competitors' products, strategies and actions; discern trends and short/long-term implications of this information; and (in partnership with team Global CI) disseminate relevant implications throughout the organization. Identify, prioritize, and fill competitive knowledge gaps, by leveraging internal and external experts, desk research actions, or primary/secondary Global Insights research.

Create and present this information to key stakeholders in an effective manner. Analyze and summarize quarterly results of publicly listed competitors, sharing earnings results in a timely-fashion to stakeholders and possibly executive management. Such a select group of publicly listed companies currently include SDC, Angel align, Dentsply-Sirona, Henry Schein, 3M, Straumann, and Envista. Attend major trade shows / conferences, leading the analysis, synthesis, and reporting of competitive activities observed at such forms.

Promptly address questions regarding such events raised by key stakeholders raised in real-time, , and report on breaking news by highlighting relevant facts. Key events include CMW, AAO, GNY and possibly some international shows. Provide research support for key Business Development and Strategy initiatives, which may involve profiling target companies and/or market segments. Guide stakeholder partners on the substantiation of relevant global claims, working to best develop impactful claims wording with strong data substantiation.

Cross-collaborate well with Team Global CI, other global peers, regional CI stakeholders, and country CI stakeholders. In this role, you’ll need … A strong foundation regarding marketing research theories and approaches, financial statements and company evaluation metrics Ability to work independently or with little supervision, manage more than one project at a time, and pace work in order to meet deadlines Ability to facilitate and manage a number of research vendor partnerships A sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability Solid communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to handle occasional travel Global research experience, minimum 6+ years client-side and/or vendor-side A background or degree in Business, Economics, Psychology or relevant fields.
