Director & Sr Corporate Counsel (Government & Trade)

Responsibilities

• Support all ongoing activities related to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and OFAC country‑specific regulations.

• Conduct internal investigations.

• Assist in company‑wide compliance programs and initiatives and special projects that support and enhance Cadence’s trade compliance program initiatives.

• Partner and collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as Finance, Sales, and R&D, providing legal advice and guidance on various matters involving U.S. export controls.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of EAR, ITAR, and OFAC.

• Experience managing inquiries and engagements with U.S. government regulators.

• Resourceful self‑starter with excellent organizational, problem‑solving, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

• Highly team‑oriented with a sense of humor, an open mind, and the ability to adapt quickly to change in a fast‑paced environment.

• 5+ years of attorney experience in law firms and/or in‑house with multinational corporations.

• Experience in software or technology industries is desirable; willingness to travel occasionally.

• J.D. degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.

The annual salary range for California is $176,400 to $327,600. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits.
