In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services.

Description:
The Metal Fabrication, Backplanes, Machining & Energy business is currently based out of facilities in US (Fremont, Newark, Austin & Houston) & Mexico (Guadalajara & Monterey) with potential expansion in EU. It provides a wide range of complex assemblies & enclosures for world’s leading manufacturers within very diversified market sectors like Aerospace & Defense, AI & Data Centers, Automotive, Industrial to name a few.
Responsibilities:Starting with the foundations of the company’s existing business relationships with Global Metals SC Ecosystem, work with the SC & Operations leadership team to drive excellent business results through sound, innovative supply chain solutions, strategic supplier relationships, thorough understanding of technology roadmap, excellent commercial acumen and problem solving skills.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- The scope of the job is global, spanning Sanmina’s Mechanical Mfg & Integration facilities in United States, Mexico & Europe.
- Define & develop Commodity Sourcing Strategy for Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Raw Materials (Steel, Copper, Aluminum, and Special Alloys) & Outsourced Services (OSP) like plating, painting, epoxy coating etc.
- Develop and manage executive level engagement and relationships with existing strategic suppliers as per business needs, technology roadmap and footprint of operations.
- Assess the capability gaps in existing supply chains and Identify & develop new suppliers to bridge those.
- Own the supplier selection, commercials including pricing & business award(sourcing) throughout multiple stages of business engagement viz. RFQ,NPI & Mass Pro, in case of new & existing customers.
- In this regard, remain engaged closely with quote and operations teams to provide them necessary guidance & direction.
- Ensure compliance of contracts & agreements e.g. NDA, PA, VMI etc. with the suppliers.
- Conduct periodic business review with management of strategic suppliers for strengthening engagement, enhancing cost competitiveness & driving favorable terms.
- Periodically gather, develop and share Procurement Intelligence on Market, Supply, Pricing aspects of Raw Materials with Internal stakeholders.
- Depending upon nature & severity of escalations on supplier, support the internal stakeholders to resolve it.
The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- Experience in working in EMS (Metals & Large Form Factor Mechanicals Assemblies & Structures), Metals Distribution Centres, ODM or Tier 1 Mechanicals manufacturing environment in North America with exposure to various markets viz. Data Centre, Cloud & Communications, Semi-Con, Industrial, Defense & Aerospace, Automotive & Healthcare.
- Excellent communication (written & spoken) skills in English.
- Being able to think and act strategically and yet is able to demonstrate excellent tactical acumen in case of routine activities & escalations.
