What to Expect

Tesla is seeking an experienced Program Controls & Systems Lead with a proven track record in managing large‑scale capital and operational expenditure programs. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, business process improvement, and systems optimization to support Finance and Business operations across our global organization.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience in program controls, project delivery and financial systems, with the ability to navigate complexity, foster cross‑functional alignment, and deliver measurable impact through process automation and data‑driven insights.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the design, implementation and optimization of program controls for Cap Ex and OpEx initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and financial objectives
  • Drive business process improvements, automation and system enhancements, integrating financial systems to support efficient and scalable global operations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document current‑state processes and leverage data to identify high‑impact areas for improvement
  • Develop comprehensive proposals for policy, process, system and organizational structure changes that drive efficiency, compliance and scalability
  • Present recommendations and business cases to senior and executive leadership with clear justifications and measurable outcomes
  • Oversee program life cycle from requirements gathering to development, testing and implementation, ensuring timely delivery and risk mitigation
  • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to monitor project performance and success, making data‑backed adjustments as needed
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in program controls, project management or systems analysis, with deep exposure to Cap Ex and OpEx programs and cross‑functional global initiatives
  • Strong financial and operational expertise, including cost management, resource planning, financial systems and process automation, with a track record of delivering results in finance and accounting programs
  • Analytical and data‑driven mindset, with the ability to interpret complex data, extract insights and drive continuous improvement through informed, timely actions
  • Proactive, data‑driven and solution‑oriented approach, with a strong work ethic, natural problem‑solving ability and a clear bias for action in dynamic, fast‑paced environments
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to present to executive leadership, align stakeholders and translate complexity into clarity
  • Collaborative relationship builder, skilled at connecting dots and people to foster global partnerships, drive alignment and sustain momentum across teams and functions

Expected Compensation

100,000 – 216,000 USD annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
