We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our client's growing real estate accounting team. This role is responsible for the financial management of a portfolio of commercial properties. The ideal candidate has a solid background in property accounting and understands the intricacies of tenant leases, operating expenses, and reconciliation processes.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in property accounting and understands the intricacies of tenant leases, operating expenses, and reconciliation processes.

• Maintain and manage accounting records for a portfolio of commercial properties (retail, office, or industrial).

• Prepare and analyze CAM reconcliations in accordance with tenant leases.

• Collaborate with property managers and leasing teams to ensure lease terms are accurately reflected in the accounting system.

• Calculate and bill tenants for monthly recurring charges, including rent, CAM, and other pass-throughs.

• Investigate and resolve tenant disputes related to reconciliations or billings.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.

• Assist with annual budgets and property audits.

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

• Liaise with external auditors as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in property accounting, preferably in commercial real estate.

• Strong understanding of lease agreements and real estate terminology.

• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, Quick Books, Real Page, or similar).

• Advanced Excel skills and high attention to detail.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize workload.
