Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in San Jose, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting overall accounting operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise while collaborating with a dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

- Manage sales tax filings and resolve related discrepancies.

- Record and maintain journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly documented.

- Assist in tax planning activities and provide insights to optimize financial performance.

- Conduct reconciliations to ensure data integrity across accounting systems.

- Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends and assist in decision-making processes. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

- Strong knowledge of corporate tax regulations and sales tax procedures.

- Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and managing journal entries.

- Experience working with general ledger systems and financial reconciliations.

- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
