About

The Role

As a Girls Lacrosse Assistant Coach, you'll be an integral part of our program, supporting the Program Head in shaping the athletic and personal growth of our student-athletes. This seasonal, part-time position, running from February to May, is about fostering a deep love for the game and modeling our values of integrity, teamwork, and sportsmanship at either the Varsity or Junior Varsity level.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about teaching the game, building a healthy and inclusive team culture, and serving as a collaborative member of the UHS community.

• Support Program Development:
  Assist the Program Head in the daily operations and overall development of the Girls Varsity or JV Lacrosse team.
• Deliver Engaging Practices:
  Help plan and lead effective training sessions that build technical skills, tactics, rules, and game strategies appropriate for the team's competitive level.
• Cultivate a Positive Team Culture:
  Promote a growth mindset, model exemplary sportsmanship, and encourage leadership, accountability, and mutual respect among players.
• Ensure Compliance & Safety:
  Uphold and model all BCL, NCS, NFHS rules, and school policies, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
• Collaborate Broadly:
  Work effectively with the Varsity Head Coach, athletic trainers, strength & conditioning staff, and other members of the department. Maintain open communication with players, parents, faculty, and administrators.
• Champion UHS Athletics:
  Integrate the school’s athletic philosophy, mission, and core values into every aspect of the program, reinforcing the educational value of sports.
• Inspire Joy & Enthusiasm:
  Create an environment where players genuinely enjoy practice and competition, cultivating pride, excitement, and a strong sense of belonging within the team.
• Provide Mentorship:
  Offer consistent leadership and mentorship to student-athletes.
