Role Overview
You will join our XR Content Tools team! Use your knowledge of software development, XR content production, Universal Scene Description (USD), and Unity to explore new XR workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Work deeply with Universal Scene Description (USD/USDZ) assets and specification
- Extend USD generation and playback capabilities within the Unity game engine toward proofs-of-concept
- Collaborate with XR engineers and members of our R&D team
- Develop automated interoperability testing
- Generate technical documentation
- Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in software development, or demonstrates equivalent experience
- XR/Spatial computing experience on platforms like Unity XR, OpenXR, Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, or Holo Lens
- Demonstrable experience creating virtual reality (VR) or mixed reality (MR) experiences in Unity
- Demonstrable experience with Python and C#
- Familiarity with USD and glTF scene-graph formats
- Familiarity with media packetization and carriage as described in MPEG-I, MPEG-4 Part 12, and MPEG-4 Part 14
- Familiarity with content creation workflows for linear or interactive media
- Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse or other USD ecosystems
- Experience with Blender, Maya, or Houdini
- Familiarity with digital twins
- Familiarity with HLS or DASH
- Experience optimizing for real-time playback in interactive environments
- Experience with software test development and automated test frameworks (e.g. pytest, Google test)
Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in software develop mentor a related field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday - Friday for 3 months between May/June 2026
- August/September 2026.
