Our client, a leader in Cloud Services and Global Infrastructure, is looking for a skilled Distributed Systems Engineer to join their team for a 6-month contract-to-hire engagement. This project involves designing, building, and maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable distributed systems that run across global infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence architectural decisions for mission‑critical services.
This is a high‑impact role that requires a self‑motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
- Designing, building, and maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable distributed systems.
- Leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and influencing architectural decisions for mission‑critical services.
- Designing, developing, and optimizing large‑scale distributed systems and services.
- Providing technical leadership and guiding engineering teams on architecture and best practices.
- Owning projects end‑to‑end: from design and implementation to deployment and operational support.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Implementing disaster recovery strategies and ensuring high availability of systems.
- Participating in on‑call rotations and incident response for production systems.
- Driving continuous improvement in performance, reliability, and security.
- Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in a similar role designing and building large‑scale distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems design, global infrastructure, and high‑availability architecture. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with incident response and deployment/operational support of mission‑critical services.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
