Senior Backend Software Engineer (Go)
Location: Remote (North America – Pacific to Eastern time zones)
Experience Level: 6–20 years
Base Salary: $180,000 – $230,000 USD
Work Authorization- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States or Canada.

We’re looking for a deeply experienced backend engineer to help build secure, scalable distributed systems from the ground up. This is an early-stage, high-ownership role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast with rigor, and cares deeply about building secure, enterprise-grade software.
What You’ll Do- Architect and build secure, scalable distributed microservices
- Design backend systems for high availability and enterprise workloads
- Implement robust audit logging and observability practices
- Design database schemas and write performant raw SQL
- Build and maintain production CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes-based deployments
- Design and implement identity and access management integrations
- Contribute to compliance-aligned engineering practices (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA)
- Partner cross-functionally across product, design, and engineering
- 6–20 years of backend software engineering experience
- Strong hands‑on development experience in Go (preferred) or Java
- Excellent computer science fundamentals
- Strong backend breadth (APIs, databases, distributed systems, infra awareness)
- Experience owning end‑to‑end systems in a startup or demonstrated ownership of major production systems at a larger tech company
- Experience building secure, scalable distributed architectures
- Experience with identity and access management protocols:
- OAuth 2.0
- SAML
- OIDC
- Web Authn
- Familiarity with certificate authorities and PKI
- Understanding of corporate IT/security ecosystems (MDM, endpoint security, etc.)
- Experience implementing audit logging in production systems
- Strong conceptual understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Production experience with Kubernetes
- Experience designing database schemas and writing raw SQL
- Experience working with compliance frameworks such as:
- SOC 2
- ISO 27001
- GDPR
- CCPA
- Computer Science degree from a top CS program
- Experience in identity-focused companies (e.g., Okta, One Login, or similar identity providers)
- Experience building customer-facing identity or security infrastructure (not solely internal tooling)
