Firmware​/Embedded Architect

Annual Salary: $160,000-$240,000 per annum

An exciting and fast growing Specialist Engineering Company located in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA (USA) who specialize in the industry for Humanoid Robots are now hiring for a brand new Firmware/Embedded Architect to join the growing highly innovative team and to be working on world‑class technologies and products building them from ground up. The ideal Firmware/Embedded Engineer will have present or prior experience working in the following industries/technologies for Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles, Self‑Driving Cars, Drones, eVTOL, Automotive & EV background working for Tesla, Cruise, Waymo, Lucid Motors

The annual salary on offer for the successful Firmware/Embedded Architect is $160,000-$240,000 per annum.

The successful Firmware/Embedded Engineering Architect will define and own the long‑term architecture for embedded firmware across company’s products. The Firmware/Embedded Engineer will also drive system‑level technical decisions across firmware and hardware boundaries.

• Education – BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Math
• 7–10+ years of embedded firmware development with multiple shipped products
• Embedded Software Programming in C & C++
• RTOS – FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Zephyr or similar
• Experience of Embedded Linux, Yocto, Buildroot, Bitbake, Ubuntu
• Experience of microcontrollers – STM
  32, ARM Microcontrollers, PIC, SoC
• Network protocols – SPI, I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, Ethernet, CAN
• Experience of Motor Control –
  Bonus
• Understanding of signal processing (e.g., Kalman filters for IMUs) –
  Bonus
• Experience with Power Electronics, FPGA dev, camera sensors, Kernel, Python –
  Bonus
• Scripting & Automation Tools – Python, Bash, MATLAB
• Proven experience architecting large embedded systems (not just implementing features)
• Strong ability to write clean code, coding standards, code reviews, CI/CD, test frameworks, OTA updates
• Good interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills, innovative and enthusiastic
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship
