The Role
** As a Wireless Software Engineer focused on Bluetooth, you will help build the core libraries and systems that power a new wireless ecosystem at HP IQ. You will work across hardware, firmware, connectivity, and product teams to create reliable, cross platform Bluetooth experiences and advance a project with real technical depth and broad industry reach.
You will join a team that encourages exploration, fast iteration, and proactive ownership. This is a chance to take bold ideas from concept to production, influence a wireless platform outside today’s dominant ecosystems, and help shape work that will meaningfully impact how people connect and interact that will transform the future of work.
** What You Might Do
*** Serve as a technical expert for Bluetooth features spanning applications, frameworks, middleware layers.
* Architect, design, and build reusable, scalable wireless software libraries with well-defined, stable API boundaries.
* Lead performance optimization, system-level debugging, and feature development within the wireless domain.
* Drive cross-functional collaboration with system software, firmware, OS, hardware, and wireless teams to integrate, validate, and optimize Bluetooth components
* Partner with program management and quality teams to triage complex field issues, perform deep root-cause analysis, and deliver long-term corrective actions.
* Influence system architecture to ensure robustness, backward compatibility, and extensibility across multiple product generations.
* Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance, raising the overall quality bar.
* Identify technical risks early and proactively propose architectural or implementation-level improvements.
** Essential Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* 5+ years of software development experience with focus on wireless technologies.
* Proficiency in modern C++ and device-level or systems software development.
* Experience designing cross-platform Bluetooth systems (iOS, Android, Windows).
* Experience with wireless stack integration, IPC mechanisms, and performance tuning.
* Proven ability to design maintainable, extensible software libraries and APIs.
* Strong debugging and analytical skills using tools such as logic analyzers, packet sniffers, and embedded logs.
* Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across firmware, OS, hardware, and product teams.
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Experience with Bluetooth performance tuning, throughput optimization and real-world reliability improvements
* Hands-on experience with tools such as Ellisys or similar Bluetooth protocol analyzers.
* Familiarity with wireless coexistence challenges (BLE, Wi-Fi, BT Classic) is a plus.
* Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical discussions, and influencing architecture decisions.
* Desire to work outside the current domain to gain broader experience.
Salary range: $140,000 - $225,000
