Build and own large-scale data pipelines and observability systems that power metrics, logging, and real‑time insights across services. This role focuses on designing reliable telemetry pipelines, improving monitoring and alerting, and ensuring data quality and system visibility al candidates have strong distributed systems fundamentals, backend development experience (Java or similar), and experience operating high‑throughput data or monitoring platforms in cloud or hybrid environments.

Join a team building and operating Salesforce's large‑scale data platforms across public and private clouds. You will design, develop, and run resilient distributed systems using technologies such as Spark, Kafka, HBase, Hive, or Presto on modern containerized stacks, while balancing live‑site operations, feature delivery, and technical debt. The role includes owning core platform services, contributing to open‑source ecosystems, and participating in on‑call rotations to keep mission‑critical data systems highly available.

• Related technical degree required
• 7+ years of backend software development experience
• Strong programming skills:
  Java (strongly preferred);
  Python and Rust are strong pluses
• Strong experience with public cloud platforms, especially AWS and GCP
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Strong experience building Big Data Platforms using Flink, Spark, Kafka, Trino, HBase, etc.
• Strong experience operating data or infrastructure platforms at enterprise scale
• Experience owning and operating multiple instances of critically important services
• Experience with Agile development and Test Driven Development
• Experience using telemetry and metrics to drive operational excellence
• Deep understanding of distributed systems: strong opinions on CAP theorem, ability to sketch consistency models, and understanding of Paxos, Raft, and Zookeeper at implementation level
