Job Description & How to Apply Below
Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
You will design and lead a foundational talent pipeline that develops early-career professionals across Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales AI Engineering, and Forward Deployed Engineering - as part of our Applied AI associate function. You'll build a structured rotational program exposing associates to all major sales segments and Applied AI functions, culminating in capstone projects that produce scalable assets for the organization.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role. You will design the program from the ground up - rotation structure, assessment frameworks, graduation criteria, onboarding curriculum, and capstone evaluation. You will personally coach early-career talent and work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and HR to produce world-class Applied AI professionals.
This role must be based in San Francisco, where all early enablement and training takes place.
Responsibilities
Program Design & Operations
* Design and operate the end-to-end rotational program: onboarding, rotation scheduling, assessment checkpoints, capstone evaluation, and graduation decisions
* Build rotation plans across Startups, Commercial, Digital Natives, and Industries segments
* Define graduation criteria, performance milestones, and assessment frameworks that distinguish genuine underperformance from normal ramp-up variation
* Iterate based on cohort outcomes, associate feedback, and organizational needs
Talent Development & Coaching
* Directly manage and coach Applied AI Associates through their rotational journey
* Provide hands-on technical coaching on Claude Code, Agent SDK, MCP, eval design, and customer engagement
* Guide associates through capstone project selection, scoping, execution, and presentation
* Balance skill development with customer delivery commitments across rotations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Partner with segment leads to integrate associates into rotation teams
* Coordinate with SA, PE, and FDE leadership for meaningful function exposure
* Work with recruiting to build a diverse early-career technical talent pipeline
* Partner with HR/Employment Law on program structure and performance management frameworks
Process & Operations
* Build scalable processes for managing customer engagements, prioritizing opportunities, and measuring impact
* Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to track team performance and customer outcomes
* Create systems for knowledge management, ensuring best practices are documented and accessible
* Drive operational excellence while maintaining the flexibility needed for a fast-growing product area
You may be a good fit if you have:
Required Experience
* 5+ years in solutions architecture, sales engineering, developer relations, or technical customer-facing roles
* 2+ years people management experience, ideally with early-career or rotational programs
* Track record designing and operating structured talent development programs whether in the same form as a rotational program or a commercial / SMB program that grows talent into Enterprise
* Hands-on expertise with Claude Code or similar AI tools
Technical Skills
* Deep familiarity with modern dev workflows, AI-assisted tooling, and developer productivity
* Understanding of Agent SDK, MCP, prompt engineering, and eval design
* Ability to assess technical work quality across SA, PE, and FDE domains
Leadership & Mindset
* Strong coaching and mentorship abilities with evidence of developing junior technical talent
* Experience building assessment frameworks and graduation standards
* Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments while building durable structure
* Deep belief in the potential of early-career talent
* Commitment to making powerful AI technology safe and beneficial
