Senior Software Engineer, Data Warehouse

The Data Warehouse team develops features to allow users to integrate disparate data sources with Amplitude seamlessly, turning data into powerful product intelligence. We are building the next generation analytics experience where users can instantly gain product insights from their data in warehouses without any data ingestion.

You will solve hardcore infrastructure challenges—designing for extreme throughput, optimizing systems with millisecond latencies, and building resilient systems for near-zero downtime. You will also work closely with Product and Customers to define strategy and roadmap for our core product and new features, and collaborate with designers to deliver the best customer experience.

• Take product ideas from ideation to implementation
• Develop backend services that integrate with various data warehouses and cloud services
• Optimize performance and scale our data import/export infrastructure to handle ever-increasing volume
• Collaborate with Product and Design to iterate on our product
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Lead engineering discussions and mentor others on best practices
• Mentor and contribute to the success of junior engineers

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or another technical field
• 3+ years of experience working in a Software Engineering role
• Strong foundation in programming, algorithms, and software application design
• Passionate about solving challenging problems and iterating quickly
• Previous experience with Java (or Java) is a plus
• Experience with distributed systems, data processing and analytics is a plus
• Experience with ETL pipelines is a plus
• Technical leadership experience is a plus
• Frontend experience is a plus

This role is eligible for equity, benefits, and other compensation. Salary ranges vary by location:
Colorado: $190,000–$286,000 target cash;
New York City: $212,000–$319,000;
San Francisco Bay Area: $212,000–$319,000;
California (non‑SFBay): $190,000–$286,000;
Washington State: $190,000–$286,000.
