Position Title: Software Engineering Manager, AI Agents

Lead the team building industrial scale AI agents that transform how Cloudflare supports millions of customers worldwide. This isn't research. Your team's code powers real customer interactions from day one, at global scale.
You'll assemble Cloudflare's cutting edge stack into production agents while building and mentoring a world class engineering team in one of the world's most vibrant tech hubs.
Your ImpactTeam Leadership & Development
- Build, coach, and scale a team of 4 to 8 senior engineers
- Create structured mentorship programs and clear career pathways
- Foster a culture of continuous learning with skills focused development
- Champion diversity and build an inclusive team environment
- Conduct regular 1:1s focused on growth and professional development
Technical Excellence
- Drive architectural decisions for agent systems on Workers platform
- Set engineering standards for quality, performance, and reliability
- Own SLOs for latency, errors, cost, and success metrics
- Lead code reviews ensuring crisp PRs and comprehensive testing
- Balance innovation with pragmatic delivery timelines
Delivery & Execution
- Ship production features every two weeks
- Partner with Support, Success, Product, Security, and Data teams
- Drive metrics that matter: time to first response, resolution time, automation rate
- Implement robust on call processes with clear incident ownership
- Ensure transparent progress tracking with no mystery boxes
Your team will build on Cloudflare's global edge platform:
- Core Platform: Workers, Durable Objects for state management
- AI/ML Stack: Workers AI, AI Gateway, Vectorize for semantic search
- Data Layer: KV, R2, D1, Postgres for configuration and persistence
- Integration: Agent SDK, MCP, function calling, Queues, Pub/Sub
- Security: Zero Trust, WAF, API Shield, DLP policies
- Proven track record leading engineering teams that ship production systems
- Strong experience with Cloudflare platform or similar edge/serverless architectures
- Deep understanding of modern agent patterns and LLM application development
- Excellence in Type Script or Rust, with expertise in async, performance optimization
- Experience with AI/ML tooling: prompts, evals, safety systems, observability
- Track record of building high performing teams in India's tech ecosystem
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Experience with Workers AI, AI Gateway, and Vectorize in production
- Salesforce or Service Cloud integrations expertise
- Security depth: prompt injection protection, PII handling, secrets management
- Experience leading distributed or remote engineering teams
- Background in customer support or service automation domains
