This role should be based in China Mainland.

Fluency in English and Chinese is required.

Expanding in under-penetrated global markets is a key pillar of our company’s growth strategy. We are looking for a product focused Staff Software Engineer to help us drive innovative initiatives for our regional guests. At the Staff level, our Engineers are responsible for establishing a technical vision and then delivering a solution that is flexible, always available, efficient, and scales with the needs of the business. Each individual brings their own unique skill set, experiences, thought leadership and technical expertise to solve these technical challenges for Airbnb.

Work with cross functional partners (product managers, legal etc) to design and deliver high-quality products.
Lead efforts to architect, prototype, build and launch solutions for international markets.

• Provide critical input in team roadmap and technical direction.
• Influence and collaborate with stakeholders to adopt team goals and roadmaps
• Mentor engineers both within and outside of the team

• 10+ years industry experience
• You have experience leading teams, setting technical direction, building & launching high-impact user-facing products
• You have experience influencing partners such as designers and product managers as well as other engineering teams
• You are excited to ideate, prototype new ideas, and influence product direction
• You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and across engineering teams
• You have demonstrated an ability to mentor and grow more junior engineers, set and drive best practices
