Pay Rate: $26–32/hr
Shift/Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician supports daily operations by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeep across a multi-floor office environment. This role requires hands-on technical skills, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently while interacting directly with clients.
Work Environment
Office space covering 8 floors
Role requires being on feet most of the day
Frequent bending, kneeling, and getting up from the floor
Regular client interaction
Candidate works mostly independently
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform general office maintenance including painting, patching, and basic repairs.
Complete basic plumbing and carpentry tasks.
Set up furniture and spaces for meetings and events.
Escort vendors as required.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
Conduct routine inspections, diagnose issues, and complete repairs.
Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
Review and complete assigned work orders using existing systems.
Support energy management initiatives to ensure efficient system operation.
Inspect installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
Use established procedures to solve straightforward problems and communicate clearly.
Deliver assigned tasks under defined procedures with close supervision.
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
General maintenance and troubleshooting skills
Basic carpentry and repair experience
Troubleshooting office appliances (ice machines, dishwashers, coffee machines, etc.)
Strong customer service and professionalism
Self-starter with a proactive approach
Ability to work independently
Preferred Skills
Writing proficiency
Good verbal communication skills
Team-oriented and flexible mindset
Additional Skills
Basic computer and email skills
Strong organizational skills
Experience
1–3 years of relevant maintenance or facilities experience
Education
High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, climb stairs/ladders
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the day
