This is a full-time, on-site role located in San Francisco, CA, for the position of Building Engineer. The Building Engineer will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair duties across the hotel, including troubleshooting and addressing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. Responsibilities include ensuring equipment is functioning efficiently, executing routine preventative maintenance on building systems, and promptly resolving guest and operational needs.
The individual should ensure compliance with safety standards and assist with energy-efficient solutions to maintain the property at top operational performance.
- Proficiency in building maintenance, mechanical systems, and HVAC systems
- Practical knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing maintenance, and general facility repair practices
- Ability to perform routine inspections, identify issues, and provide solutions promptly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with peers and other departments
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to urgent maintenance needs
- Relevant trade certifications or technician licenses; experience in hotel or commercial building maintenance is a plus
