Cable Splicing Technician

Hill Country Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HCTC) is seeking a full-time Cable Splicing Technician to join our team. The selected candidate must reside in the Hill Country area or within a 90-mile radius.

As a Cable Splicing Technician
, you will play a key role in maintaining and expanding HCTC’s telecommunications network.

Responsibilities include:

• Splicing copper and fiber optic cables in indoor and outdoor environments
• Installing copper and fiber terminals on various cable sizes
• Managing slack and grounding cables in neat splice cases
• Performing mid-sheath splices and assisting with construction lineman duties
• Creating and interpreting splicing schematics and diagrams
• Documenting staking sheets and supporting project timelines through inspections and design
  Performing assigned cutovers

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of relevant telecom construction experience preferred
• Specialized skills training/certification may be required

• Must have a valid Class C Texas driver's license
  • If relocating to Texas, must obtain a Texas license within 30 days
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under HCTC's standard auto insurance policy
• Must have and maintain, or be able to obtain, a Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Pole Climbing Certification (or ability to attain within 6 months of hire) required
