As a Telecommunications Central Office Installer – Level III
, you will provide detailed installation, removal, and maintenance of Central Office Telecom equipment—including Transmission, Power, and Fiber systems—while supervising smaller crew members.
- Work as part of installation teams at customer locations across the country.
- Operate vehicles, hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and test equipment.
- Apply installation skills per Telco Standard TP76300, performing all duties of an Installer Level 2 or 3 with competency and accuracy.
- Install AC/DC power systems, low/high-density fiber systems, internal infrastructure, and supervisory/alarm systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage, staging, and work areas on‑site.
- Understand and follow company policies, safety procedures, paperwork, and administrative requirements.
- Read, understand, and apply job/equipment specifications, installation documents, and schematics.
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience- Minimum 3+ years of installation experience, or a combination of experience and training as determined by the company.
- Experience with AT&T Central Office installation practices and DC power installation is a plus.
- Physically capable of placing, removing, or modifying cable trays, racking, data equipment cabinets, servers, switches, routers, repeaters, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, firewalls, fuse panels, and BDFBs.
- Identify, label, measure, terminate, and physically route cables that supply AC or DC power or transmit data in various technical spaces.
- Apply common sense to conduct instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Proficient laptop computer skills and experience with applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of tools necessary for advanced assignments and installations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass all pre‑employment background checks; insurable.
- Travel required within the home region and nationwide without restrictions. International travel is a plus; expenses 100% paid by the employer.
- Must comply with OSHA Standards and be able to work in raised floor environments, small crawl spaces, and telecommunication superstructures using ladders and lifts.
- Must be able to vertically lift 50 lbs, stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces.
- Fully understand all company and customer policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Base Pay Range: $28 – $38 USD per hour.
In addition to wages, employees may be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, a company vehicle, per diem, or other applicable compensation.
