Position Summary

The successful Account Manager will establish City Cruises as the venue of choice as a global leader in world class experiences. S/he will execute sales strategy as given by the Regional Director of Sales to ensure increased share of the market and revenue growth while meeting or exceeding targets within the assigned market segments.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops a comprehensive knowledge of the client and market needs by regularly visiting clients and setting up face-to-face appointments.
  • Follow guidance from sales leadership and apply effective sales techniques, including hosting site tours aboard ships.
  • Generate leads through client appointments and networking with current customers for lead generation; convert prospects to clients with the goal of closing sales.
  • Attend networking and industry events to learn about the market.
  • Identify customer needs and use in-depth product knowledge to prepare winning proposals and present them in person during site visits and meetings.
  • Handle objections and solve customer problems through active listening and consultation with sales leadership.
  • Establish relationships with associations and business organizations (e.g., Convention & Visitors Bureau) to gain referrals.
  • Administrative: plan weekly schedule focused on closing revenue and executing out-of-office sales activities, including client visits, networking events, ship tours, and boarding client events.
  • Balance a schedule that may include boarding clients and cruising with high-value clients as needed.
  • Use Salesforce (CRM) to plan and manage activities in assigned markets and track productivity.
  • Use Anchor (reservation software) to book orders and create curated proposals to present in person at client locations or on ship tours.
  • Maintain personal organization, set work priorities, and keep accurate records.
  • Collaborate with Sales Admin to collect payments and manage accounts receivable within aging guidelines.
  • Customer Service: respond promptly to client inquiries and provide quotes within 24 hours; ensure complete and accurate product details are communicated to operations for proper execution.
  • Follow up with customers within 24 hours after cruises to develop the account, request surveys, and obtain referrals when possible.
  • Coordinate with the Regional Director of Sales to resolve customer issues, prioritizing in-person handling for high-priority matters.
  • Attend designated meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Director of Sales.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years total sales experience, including at least 1 year of outbound telephone sales experience.
  • Wedding sales experience is required.
  • Experience with social markets is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field or related experience.
  • Hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Analytical skills to identify and exploit selling opportunities; strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proposal writing and effective written communication capabilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proven leadership and persuasive abilities; strong listening skills and problem-solving capability.
