Why This Role ExistsSphere has reached the point where founder-led sales no longer scales. This role exists to own and professionalize revenue, without slowing the company down.
As a Founding Account Executive, you’ll work directly with the Founder to take what’s working, sharpen it, and turn it into a repeatable GTM engine. You won’t inherit a polished playbook. You’ll help build it, while closing deals at the same time.
This is a true founding sales role with real influence over motion, messaging, and how the team scales.

You’ll operate as a high-agency, full-cycle seller with founder-level exposure.
You will:
Run full-cycle sales: outbound, close new logos, and expand existing accounts
Flex between high-velocity SMB deals and more complex mid-market sales
Partner directly with the Founder to build GTM playbooks, sales assets, and the revops stack
Pressure-test messaging, ICPs, and channels through real deals
Help shape the structure and hiring plan for the future sales team
Represent Sphere with credibility to finance leaders and operators navigating global compliance

You likely:
Thrive in zero-to-one environments
Don’t wait for instructions—if something can be done today, you do it today
Enjoy building process while carrying quota
Are energized by selling mission-critical infrastructure, not “nice-to-have” tools
Want to be early and have your fingerprints on how revenue is built
Proven experience selling B2B SaaS into SMB and mid-market customers
Track record of exceeding quota in a quota-carrying role
Experience in early-stage startups, building process from scratch
Strong outbound skills and comfort owning the full sales cycle
Ability to work in-person in San Francisco
Experience selling to CFOs, finance, or accounting leaders
Background selling compliance, fintech, or infrastructure software
