We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Executive to join our team. We are a leading provider of energy efficiency solutions for existing building projects. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans to penetrate and expand our market presence in the public sector. You will focus on selling our innovative energy efficiency projects to state and local government agencies, higher education institutions, K-12 school systems, and healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to each segment of the public sector. Identify key prospects and develop targeted approaches to meet their specific energy efficiency needs.

  • Client Acquisition: Generate new business opportunities by identifying and contacting potential clients within state and local government, higher education, K-12 education, and healthcare sectors. Leverage industry knowledge to address their unique energy efficiency challenges.

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers and influencers within target organizations. Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Solution Selling: Understand the technical and financial aspects of our energy efficiency projects. Work closely with our technical and engineering teams to develop customized solutions that meet client needs and provide value.

  • Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of proposals, presentations, and bids. Ensure all documentation accurately reflects our capabilities and addresses client requirements. Present solutions effectively to stakeholders and secure project approvals.

  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape. Use this knowledge to position our offerings effectively and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and client interactions. Provide regular updates and forecasts to management, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, technical support, and project management, to ensure seamless execution of projects and exceptional client service.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the energy efficiency or building management sector. Experience with public sector sales is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of energy efficiency technologies, public sector procurement processes, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with the needs and challenges of state and local government, higher education, K-12 education, and healthcare sectors.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proven ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in energy management or sales are a plus.

  • Attributes: Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently. Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
