Senior Sales Executive – Forward Air Corporation

Join Forward Air Corporation’s direct sales organization as a Senior Sales Executive. In this role you will maintain and strengthen customer relationships within a defined territory assignment of large enterprise customers in the transportation and logistics industry.

Core Responsibilities & Duties
  • Develop new business and grow revenue by identifying potential new customers, researching prospects, understanding their supply chain, and implementing tailored solutions.
  • Maintain existing business by deepening knowledge of customer operations, collaborating with customer‑success executives, and ensuring continued retention.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams—including specialized product sales and customer‑success leaders—to provide a seamless, outstanding customer experience.
  • Engage regularly with customers to ensure they understand Forward’s portfolio and maximize utilization of all solutions.
  • Foster strong customer relationships through regular business reviews, skillful communication, and proactive solution development.
  • Leverage technology tools such as internal systems, mobile devices, and PowerPoint to deliver precise customer communications.
  • Take initiative in leading internal teams, displaying organization, discipline, and adaptability under challenging circumstances.
  • Monitor competitor actions within each account and formulate appropriate responses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of enterprise‑level sales experience, preferably in transportation or logistics.
  • Proven track record of exceeding enterprise sales targets and growing market share.
  • Experience selling to enterprise‑level customers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of CRM software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Overnight travel may be required to meet customer demands.
