AI Anime Researcher

Overview

We re looking for an experienced AI Researcher to join our team and help us push the boundaries of AI and anime. You ll design and develop large-scale diffusion models with a primary focus on images, and secondary focus on other modalities like 3d, text, video and audio.

• Design, implement, and scale diffusion models with an emphasis on image generation; explore additional modalities (3D, text, video, audio) as part of project scope.
• Collaborate closely with a small, fast-moving team to bring research into production quickly.
• Iterate rapidly from lab experiments to production-ready models, deploying regular quality updates to models and collaborating with internal studios.
• Engage in end-to-end development cycles from research ideas to game-ready models and deployments for niji・journey.
• Work in a tight feedback loop between research and production to maximize impact and usability of models.
• Be comfortable with on-site collaboration in Tokyo (downtown Akihabara) or San Francisco; visa sponsor ships are available.

• Experience as an AI Researcher focusing on diffusion models; strong background in research and implementation.
• Love anime and the anime aesthetic; interest in combining anime expertise with deep learning.
• You understand diffusion, or can get up to speed quickly.
• Proficient in PyTorch (and possibly JAX); experience with large PyTorch codebases and large-scale TPU training with JAX is a plus.
• Enjoys a close loop between research and production and can work well in small teams (e.g., a team of four on AI).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with researchers and internal studios.
