The Core Immunology Lab (CIL) is a fee‑for‑service core facility that supports clinical and translational research. CIL is housed within the UCSF Division of Experimental Medicine (DEM) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General and is further supported by the Center for AIDS Research (CFAR). The Core Immunology Laboratory provides specimen processing support for studies of the pathogenesis and treatment of HIV/AIDS and other immune disorders;
training and education in flow cytometric and immune‑based assays; and development, optimization and standardization of new assays for clinical research studies. The incumbent will primarily perform lymphocyte isolation and cryopreservation from blood and tissue biopsies under GCLP and basic flow cytometry. As the incumbent learns specimen processing, they may be taught additional genomics, proteomics and cellular assay procedures, including ELISA, single‑cell cDNA preparation, advanced flow cytometer operation and analysis of flow cytometry data.
This position will provide technical support for on‑going and planned studies and support industry collaborations.

The Division of Experimental Medicine is a translational, wet‑lab research unit comprising 8 immunological research groups consisting of 10 faculty members and 65+ staff, trainees and post‑docs. Our labs use cutting‑edge technologies to answer clinically important questions about host‑pathogen interactions across globally devastating infectious diseases, including HIV, Malaria, SARS‑CoV‑2 and Tuberculosis.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity in this position classification positions represented by a labor union, placement will be guided by the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $28.04 – $45.09 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications- BA/BS in a related science and one or more years of recent, directly related work experience utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position; and/or equivalent experience/training.
