Position DescriptionThe Oni-Orisan Lab at UCSF’s Department of Clinical Pharmacy focuses on two major interests within pharmacogenomics:
- Establish pharmacogenetic predictors of statin efficacy and safety.
- Advance pharmacogenomic discovery and validation in historically excluded populations.
We seek an assistant specialist to assist in generating, managing, and analyzing large datasets containing electronic health records, genomic data, drug regimens, and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities- Generate drug response phenotypes (e.g., develop genotype/phenotype maps).
- Construct longitudinal data sets for analysis.
- Generate visualization plots to characterize data.
- Conduct inferential statistics and prepare/analyze requested data analytics.
- Archive code for future use and play an integral role in advancing pharmacogenomics knowledge.
- MA/MS (or equivalent) or bachelor’s degree in Health Data Science with ≥3 years of research experience.
- One year of research experience (can be during education).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and packages such as SPSS, SAS, R, or related.
- Experience constructing complex, longitudinal data sets and performing inferential statistics.
- Knowledge of large dataset management, data analysis, and visualization.
- Experience with large datasets containing electronic health records, genomic data, drug regimens, and clinical outcomes.
- Experience or training in biostatistics, pharmacogenomics, cardiology, and precision medicine.
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to complete tasks on deadline.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication abilities.
- At least one peer‑reviewed publication or submitted publication under review.
- Self‑motivated, positive attitude, strong attention to detail.
- Availability to work Monday‑Friday, normal business hours.
- Ability to work on‑site at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
- MA/MS degree (or equivalent).
