Our Field Operations Department team manages every aspect of field care and prepares all MLB games, from daily maintenance to executing gameday standards at the highest level. About

The Role

The Grounds Crew Member is responsible for maintaining the playing field appearance and condition. Individuals will perform daily field maintenance and operate all necessary equipment. In addition to field maintenance, the grounds crew will execute any baseball or event-related activities. Candidates must be available to work extended hours, as necessary (including nights and weekends).

  • You have previous turf grass experience preferred but not necessary
  • You safely operate vehicles and other related equipment
  • You have a valid Driver's License
  • You have forklift experience (not required, but a plus)
  • You can multitask, be punctual and presentable
  • You possess a strong work ethic, are comfortable working in a group or on your own, have a high attention to detail, are self-motivated and eager to learn
  • You have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • You have the ability to stand, crouch, kneel, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and climb ladders as needed
You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because…
  • Prepare, maintain, and repair of the field and sod
  • Repair bullpen mounds and home plate areas
  • Duties will include mowing, aerifying, verticutting, topdressing and fertilization
  • Pull tarp when necessary
  • Responsible for batting practice teardown and pre/post-game activities as it relates to the field
  • Irrigation maintenance
  • Infield and warning track upkeep
  • Laying flooring for events as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Compensation

$23 - $23 an hour

Compensation Details

At the San Francisco Giants, compensation is determined by factors including background and experience. The hourly rate for this position is $23.00/hour. In addition to pay, a competitive total rewards package is offered, including benefits after 60 days of employment and access to Giants tickets. The package may include medical, dental, prescription coverage, mental health support, a hybrid work environment, transportation benefits, wellness programs, and paid time off including half-day Fridays during the season and an extended holiday break.

Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and plan terms, which may be modified over time.
